METHOD OF CONTROLLING ATTENTION IN GAMING Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC A63F13/00

Abstract RU 2674191 C1

FIELD: games.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of games, in particular to the use of biofeedback in information technology, namely, the tracking of eye movement (to track tracking) to redistribute the player’s attention at the time of the computer game. Essence of the invention: method for controlling attention in the gameplay, in which the gaze of the player is tracked with areas of concentration and attention scattering, the obtained data is compared with the game plot and, according to the results of the comparison, the gameplay is corrected, if necessary, region of maximum gaming significance on the screen is allocated, in accordance with the game plot, this region is divided into at least three subregions nested into each other with assignment to each subregion of importance in the game process, frequency of occurrence in the field of significance of saccades and gaze fixations and their distribution in subregions is fixed and in case of distribution imbalances between the central and peripheral subregions, either a distractor or a factor concentrating attention is introduced into the game process. Frequency of occurrence in the field of significance of saccades and gaze fixations and their distribution in subregions are compared with threshold values, defining the boundaries of the subdomains, obtained experimentally from the results of testing a group of subjects with varying degrees of concentration on what is happening on the screen, and changes in the game process are made taking into account possible discrepancies.

EFFECT: invention can be used for leisure activities, in parallel with the training of player care and the assessment of its physiological state.
