SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for processing heavy petroleum fractions, which includes the preliminary administration into the raw material – heavy petroleum fractions – an aqueous solution of ammonium salt and a transition metal, interaction of this salt with a sulfur-containing agent, obtaining a microemulsion of a sulfur-containing transition metal salt in a raw material, cracking the raw material at an elevated temperature in the presence of a catalyst and separating the reaction products. Method is characterized by the fact that paramolybdate or ammonium paratungstate is used as said salt, the administration of an aqueous solution of this salt is carried out in a mixture with an aqueous solution of a sulfur-containing agent – ammonium sulfide – at a molar ratio of sulfur : transition metal equal to 4:1, after this administration, a stabilizer is added – a mixture of ethoxylated alkylphenol and sorbite monooleate – in a mass ratio of 1:2.3 in an amount of 3 % by wgt. relatively to raw materials and the dispersion by ultrasound frequency of 20.35–23.65 kHz is carried out to obtain a microemulsion with a particle size of the dispersed phase of 60–140 nm, containing 0.05–0.15 % of the wgt. transition metal cracking is carried out at a temperature of 500–560 °C, pressure 0.1 MPa and mass feed rate 3.5–4.0 h-1, cracking catalyst contains zeolite Y, which is modified in situ by a transition metal from the specified emulsion, and the reaction products are divided into liquid and gaseous.

EFFECT: increase in the conversion of raw materials, increase in the yield of gaseous fractions, including propylene and butylenes, and a gasoline fraction.
