SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical equipment, specifically to a safety device for an injection syringe, comprising a body with an injection needle fitted thereon. Device comprises a plunger rod screwed to a piston, comprising a distal portion, which can slide in the body of the syringe, and a proximal triggering portion configured to trigger the displacement of a protection sheath from an injection position, i.e., from a position with an open needle, towards a safety position, in which the needle is covered with a sheath. When the distal plunger portion is at the distal end of its stroke, the proximal triggering portion is able to move relative to the distal plunger portion in order to initiate the displacement of the protection sheath. Both the distal plunger portion and the proximal triggering portion are provided with anti-rotational means responsive to each other.
