Device (2) comprises mobile radio communication module (22) for transmitting data to a mobile radio communication network and close range radio communication module (23) to establish local link (43) to actuator (3) through close range radio communication interface (33), connected to actuator (3) and located within the communication range of module (23). Device (2) also comprises a processing unit connected to the mobile radio communication module and module (23) and is configured to exchange location-specific data with remote server (8) via a mobile radio communication network, wherein thee content of the location-specific data depends on the identification information associated with local link (43) to actuator (3).

EFFECT: creation of mobile communication device (2) and a control method, including control of the operation of multiple actuators that are not required to be wired to the communication network.
