SUBSTANCE: tread (2) comprises first median portion (21) having axial width L1, at least equal to 0.25 times and at most equal to 0.75 times the axial width L, and second and third side portions (22, 23), extending respectively axially towards the outside, from first median portion (21) to axial end (E, E'), and having respective axial widths (L2, L3). Each bar portion (311), axially included in first median portion (21) and extending radially towards the inside, from contact surface (6) to first interface (7), over radial distance D1 at least equal to 0.5 times and at most equal to 1 time the radial height H of the bar, is made up of a first elastomer mixture. Each bar portion (321), axially included in one of the second or third side portions (22, 23) and extending radially towards the inside, from contact surface (6) to second interface (8) over radial distance D2 at least equal to 0.5 times and at most equal to 1 times the radial height H of the bar, is made up of a second elastomer mixture.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at providing an improved tradeoff between wear resistance in the centre of the tread when used on roads and impact resistance in the shoulder areas of the tyre when used on the fields.
