SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of computer equipment. Method comprises the steps of: receiving a packet in a network device; assigning a packet to the first processing thread; determining the state of the first packet processing flow; in response to determining that the state of the first packet processing flow is a normal state, the following is performed: assigning a packet to the first packet processing thread; processing the packet and forwarding the packet; and in response to determining that the state of the first packet processing flow is an overflow state, the following is performed: assigning the packet to the second packet processing flow, and the state of each of the packet processing flows from the specified pool is an overflow condition, packet processing in the second packet processing flow, packet reordering, and packet redirection.

EFFECT: technical result is an effective increase in computing resources.
