FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an exhaust gas purification catalyst comprising two or more catalytic coating layers on a substrate, in which each catalytic coating layer contains catalyst particles having a composition different from the adjacent catalytic coating layer. In this case, in the upper catalytic layer of the coating, the average thickness of the coating layer is in the range from 25 mcm to 160 mcm, the porosity measured by the method of weighing in water is in the range from 50 to 80 % by volume, and pores with high elongation, having an elongation of 5 or more, occupy from 0.5 to 50 % of the total void volume, and a pore with a high elongation has an equivalent diameter of from 2 microns to 50 microns in the cross-sectional image of the catalytic coating layer perpendicular to the flow direction of the exhaust gas, and has an average elongation of 10 to 50.
EFFECT: technical result of the invention is to increase the efficiency of purification of exhaust gas.
