SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to steam generator (40) for steaming device (10) comprising chamber (42) having base (46) and liquid receiving space (47) above the base (46), heater (50) for heating water in liquid receiving space (47), steam outlet (49), and foaming restriction barrier (70) located between steam outlet (49) and base (46). Foaming restriction barrier (70) comprises first barrier section (71) spaced from liquid receiving space (47) between steam outlet (49) and liquid receiving space (47). First barrier section (71) is configured to prevent foam from passing into steam outlet (49). Foaming restriction barrier (70) also comprises second barrier section (72) spaced from first barrier section (71) between first barrier section (71) and liquid receiving space (47). Second barrier section (72) is configured to prevent foam from passing from liquid receiving space (47) into intermediate space (85) between first and second barrier sections (71, 72). Second barrier section (72) is configured so that all the steam generated from heating water in liquid receiving space (47) below second barrier section (72) passes through second barrier section (72) into intermediate space (85) and, from intermediate space (85) through first barrier section (71), before passing through steam outlet (49).
