FIELD: heat recovery systems.
SUBSTANCE: heat recovery system 10 includes a heat generating element 14 configured to generate heat by occlusion and release of hydrogen, sealed container 15, having first chamber 21 and second chamber 22, separated by heat generating element 14, and a temperature control unit 16 configured to control the temperature of the heat generating element 14. First chamber 21 and second chamber 22 have different hydrogen pressures. Heat generating element 14 includes support element 61 made of at least one of porous body, permeable for hydrogen film and proton conductor, and multilayer film 62 supported by support element 61. Multilayer film 62 has first layer 71 made of a hydrogen-storage metal or a hydrogen-storage alloy and having a thickness of less than 1,000 nm, and second layer 72 made of a hydrogen-storage metal different from the metal of the first layer, hydrogen-storage alloy, different from alloy of the first layer, or ceramics and having thickness less than 1,000 nm.
EFFECT: novel heat recovery systems and a heat generating device are proposed, which use an inexpensive, clean and safe source of thermal energy.
