FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy. Device contains a bunker for thermit mixture, a dispenser connected to it, a hollow auger, a reaction chamber, a removable lid with an opening, a gas-outlet chamber. Dispenser is installed in the opening of the removable lid of the reaction chamber. In the reaction chamber there are holes for flushing of slag and metal. Gas-outlet chamber is hermetically attached to the lid with the hole and to an outer surface of the dispenser. Gas-outlet chamber is provided with a valve. Gas-outlet pipe, which is equipped with a valve, is connected to the auger. Thermit mixture on a gap between the auger and an inner wall of the dispenser enters the reaction chamber and is being compacted. Compacted lumps are being ignited. As a result of the reduction reaction, melt of slag, metal and hot gas is formed, which is discharged through the hollow auger.
EFFECT: improved performance of the device for producing steel from thermit mixture.
