SUBSTANCE: invention relates to differential protection device (22) for electrical shutdown device (10), wherein shutdown device (10) comprises at least one fixed contact (14), configured for connection with corresponding electrical conductor (12), at least one contact (16) movable between a closed position, in which it is electrically connected to corresponding fixed contact (14), and an open position, in which it is electrically isolated from corresponding fixed contact (14), and disconnecting drive (20) for opening the movable contact or moving contacts (16) upon detection of a differential defect. Differential protection device (22) comprises control unit (34) for controlling disconnection drive (20), means (40) for measuring the electrical quantity associated with control unit (34), and blocking means (42) for blocking control unit (34) when the measured electrical quantity satisfies a predetermined criterion.
EFFECT: differential protection device for a shutdown device and an electrical shutdown device comprising such a device are provided.
