SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for protection of AC electrical installations. Protection device has a compact element containing a magnetic release coil and a release relay coil, and an electronic circuit connected to the release relay coil. Said electronic circuit comprises a continuous overcurrent detector and comprises a switching circuit, which are made so that in the absence of said detection signal, the switching circuit connects the trigger relay coil to the continuous overcurrent detector, while isolating the trigger relay coil from the device input connection terminals, and that in the presence of said detection signal, the switching circuit isolates the trigger relay coil from the continuous overcurrent detector, then connects the trigger relay coil to the input connecting terminals.
EFFECT: simplified design while providing protection against prolonged overcurrents.
