FIELD: chemistry; lighting.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to light-converting polymeric materials for lighting engineering, opto- and microelectronics. Light-converting polymeric material was obtained by thermal polymerization of a methyl methacrylate solution containing zinc trifluoroacetate, copper trifluoroacetate, thioacetamide (TAA) and lanthanide trifluoroacetate. Lanthanide is selected from praseodymium (III), neodymium (III), europium (III), terbium (III), holmium (III), erbium (III), ytterbium (III), or a mixture of these. Molar ratio of trifluoroacetate Zn:TAA does not exceed 1:1.5. Concentration of zinc trifluoroacetate does not exceed 0.10 mol/l. Concentration of copper ions is from 0.00010 to 0.010 mol/l, and the concentration of the specified lanthanide does not exceed 0.20 mol/l.
EFFECT: invention provides light transmission of compositions of 90–92 % at wavelengths of more than 400 nm and their manufacturability due to the possibility of obtaining products of various shapes and sizes in a glassy state and ease of manufacture.
