FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: compositions are based on polymers of esters of (meth) acrylic acid, styrene or mixtures thereof. The compositions comprise metal sulfides, salts of lanthanides and nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compounds. A method for compositions manufacture is based on metal trihaloacetates with organic sulfur compounds among (meth) acrylic acid esters and/or styrene while heating and lanthanide salts and nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compounds introduction into the solution after metal sulfides formation. Next, the composition is converted into a glassy state by polymerization and products of different shapes and sizes are made therefrom. Light transmittance of the compositions at wavelengths greater than 500 nm is 92%, which underlines their uniformity.
EFFECT: invention allows to obtain luminescence compositions which selectively absorb electromagnetic radiation in the visible and near infrared region of the spectrum.
