FUEL CELL STACK ARRANGEMENT Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC H01M8/24 H01M8/12 H01M8/02 H01M8/04

Abstract RU 2677269 C2

FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrical engineering, in particular to an improved intermediate-temperature fuel cell stack assembly, the operating temperature of which is usually 450–650 °C, and can be used in the manufacture of cell stack assemblies, in which there is a significant difference between the operating voltages of the cells in this operating mode of the cell stack, to prevent damage to the fuel cell stack. Disclosed cell stack assembly includes electrochemically inactive repetitive layers of a fuel cell stack that are unable to perform the intended electrochemical reaction in SOFC, wherein said layers provide a reduction in operating voltage drop between the central and end cells during operation of the fuel cell stack assembly. Materials for the manufacture of inactive repeating cell stack layers include, without limitation, 3CR12 stainless steel.

EFFECT: improving the stability of the output power of the fuel cell by reducing the difference in specific heat capacity between the components of the fuel cell stack.
