FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to intake channel (12) for a volute casing of a centrifugal pump. Channel (12) includes first end (54) with first inner diameter D1 and second end (58) with second inner diameter D2. Diameter D2 is smaller than diameter D1. Adapter section (56) is arranged between first end (54) and second end (58). Channel (12) has first channel portion (50) with surface (50') and diameter D1 and annular convex curvature surface (S) joining at an angle to surface (50') of first portion (50). Angle is 90–110° between surface (50') of portion (50) and a tangent to convex curvature surface (S). Tangent has a tangent point in an intersection (ℓ1) of surface (50') and convex curvature surface (S). Surface (S) reduces the cross-sectional flow area from diameter D1 to diameter D2, and diameter D1 is chosen to correspond to the first available standard pipeline diameter greater than diameter D2.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at producing a centrifugal pump having minimal deviations of suction specific speeds and improved performance characteristics due to the improved shape of the intake channel, and facilitating the fastening of the centrifugal pump to the inlet piping without hampering the flow profile.
