SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine. Method of forming an annular multi-component insert of an ophthalmic lens comprises the following steps: forming a first element of the rear curvature of the insert in a first annular mould; forming a first element of the front curvature of the insert in a second annular mould; placing conductive material on one of the first element of the front curvature or the first element of the rear curvature or on both; attaching an electronic component to the first element of the front curvature or the first element of the rear curvature or to both, wherein the fastening is made at least partially to the conductive material; placing a first material, wherein the placement forms a first seal on the surface of the first element of the front curvature of the insert or the first element of the rear curvature of the insert or on both; and forming a first cavity in the multi-component insert by combining the first element of the rear curvature of the insert and the first element of the front curvature of the insert. Inner part of the first cavity formed between the elements is sealed by the first material.

EFFECT: use of this invention widens the range of tools, specifically methods of forming an annular multi-component insert of an ophthalmic lens.
