SUBSTANCE: method for formation of an ophthalmic lens with a rigid insert, which contains the following steps: addition of an initial volume of reactive monomers mixture to the anterior curvature mould part, at that, the initial volume of the reactive monomers mixture is less than the volume needed for ophthalmic lens formation; rigid insert placement on the initial volume of the reactive monomers mixture; preliminary curing of the initial volume of the reactive monomers mixture for fixed retention of the rigid insert near the anterior curvature mould part, with preliminary curing forming the anterior curvature unit; addition of an extra volume of the reactive monomers mixture required for ophthalmic lens formation, to the anterior curvature unit. The initial and the extra volumes of the reactive monomers mixture encapsulate the rigid insert, posterior curvature mould part placement near the anterior curvature unit, forming the anterior and posterior curvature unit; curing of the initial and extra volumes of the reactive monomers mixture with ophthalmic lens formation; extraction of the anterior and posterior curvature unit; lens extraction from the extracted anterior and posterior curvature unit; ophthalmic lens hydration.
