SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine and can be used to heal a wound or improve re-epithelization of a wound, where a method of healing a wound or improving re-epithelialization of a wound includes: providing an individual with a wound, wherein the wound includes a plurality of epidermal cells located around the wound, thereby forming the wound edge; bringing the wound edge into contact with a therapeutically effective amount of tropoelastin under conditions that ensure steady contact of the tropoelastin with the wound edge for a period of time allowing re-epithelization of the wound; where tropoelastin is provided in the form of a gel containing cross-linked hyaluronic acid and tropoelastin; where re-epithelization of the wound provides healing of the wound; thereby healing the wound.

EFFECT: group of inventions provides a stable contact of tropoelastin with the wound edge for a period of time that promotes re-epithelialization of the wound.
