FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine. Method of interpreting an electrocardiogram (ECG) is performed using a system for interpreting an ECG. ECG is interpreted using an interpretation module to provide interpretation statements based on measurements of ECG waveforms. Rendering module receives input from the ECG and correlates interpretation statements with the ECG measurements responsible for the interpretation statements on the ECG. Interpretation statements are associated with corresponding ECG waveform measurements. Interpretation statements based on a specific analysis for each detected deviation from the standard are associated with their abnormal characteristics of ECG waveforms. Interpretation statements related to abnormal characteristics of ECG waveforms and ECG waveforms are displayed using a display. Parts of the ECG waveforms that contribute to the interpretation statement are digitally highlighted on the waveform. Said portions of the ECG waveforms contain blocks, or geometric shapes, or marks, or text, or lines, which denote portions of the ECG waveform that have contributed to the interpretation statement chosen by the user. Interpretation statement for explanation is selected on the display using a selection device. Each interpretation statement has an associated annotation that occurs only when the statement is selected. Interpretation statement-related measurements are rendered on ECG waveforms to indicate the reference locations and provide marks to explain the interpretation statement. Selection device includes a mouse, trackball, joystick, and/or touch pad. Selection is performed by pointing and clicking operation or operation using the touch pad by touching the display with a finger and/or pen. Cursor is moved over the waveform to identify the measurement values that are associated with the waveform, identification information for this part of the waveform, or the corresponding textual interpretation that is associated with this deviation from the standard or part of the waveform.

EFFECT: electrocardiogram signal mapping is achieved with the possibility of interpreting electrocardiograms and comparing interpretation statements with ECG measurements in a user-friendly format.
