AUTOMATIC POWER MANAGEMENT FOR EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATORS Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC A61N1/39 G06F1/32

Abstract RU 2671657 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine. Method for managing the power of a medical device is carried out by means of an emergency medical device. Device comprises power source (12), user activity detection module (56), clinical activity detection module (54) and control module (30). Power source (12) is configured to provide power to the device subsystems. User activity detection module (56) is configured to sense user activity in said subsystems. User activity comprises direct or positively expressed interaction of the user with the device by such actions as turning a round handle, pressing a button or detaching remote use module (15). Clinical activity detection module (54) is configured to sense clinical activity in said subsystems. Clinical activity comprises the activity of the device associated with the patient, including the connection of electrode pads or flat electrodes to the patient, connection of electrocardiogram electrodes (ECG) to the appropriate device and patient, obtaining ECG data from electrode pads, flat electrodes or ECG electrodes, obtaining a plethysmogram vibration signal from an SpO2 sensor, obtaining a capnogram from an EtCO2 sensor, and recording the compression of the chest. Control module (30) is coupled to said subsystems and is configured to alter a power status of said subsystems in accordance with an activity sensed in the user activity detection module and the clinical activity detection module.

EFFECT: enabling to design an emergency medical device and a power management method that provide a high level of operational reliability and energy saving by analysing user activity and clinical activity and enabling to quickly change the power status using data on the status of said activities.
