FIELD: measurement technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to magnetic moment (MM) measurement. Invention comprises dividing the magnetized body into longitudinal sections of the same volume, measuring the distance between centers of the sections and determining the average coordinate-connected array for these sections, by using measuring and compensating sensors of the three-component differential magnetometer. According to the measurement results, the required MM of the body is calculated by using the differential magnetometer of the induction of the magnetic field of the body at a distance of approximately 0.8–1.4 body length, and according to the reciprocal average for all sections of the coordinate array.

EFFECT: higher MM measurement accuracy.
