FIELD: measuring.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of measuring the magnetic moment (MM) of an elongated body. Area of application: for controlling the parameters of elongated samples of magnetic materials and controlling the indicators of magnetic protection of ships. Substance: the difference in the magnetic induction of the body in the distal area thereof is measured using two quantum three-component magnetometers. The body is divided into longitudinal sections, and the distances between each section and the magnetometer are measured. The ferromagnetic weights of the sections of the body are therein preliminarily estimated.
EFFECT: reduction in the error of measurement of the magnetic moment of an inhomogeneously magnetised body.
