FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for producing lithium peroxide. Method consists in the interaction of lithium hydroxide with hydrogen peroxide at a molar ratio of lithium hydroxide/hydrogen peroxide, equal to LiOH/H2O2=1.74–2.0, and the subsequent dehydration of the obtained ternary system LiOH-H2O2-H2O by exposure to ultra high frequency (UHF) radiation. Orthoboric acid (H3BO3) is injected into a solution of hydrogen peroxide before adding lithium hydroxide, which is carried out in two portions at intervals of not less than 10 minutes in an amount, mol of substance/mol of hydrogen peroxide, equal to 0.0035–0.008. Temperature in the synthesis zone is in the range of 35–50 °C, and the exposure of the resulting system before dehydration is at least 30 minutes.
EFFECT: method of obtaining lithium peroxide provides a yield of lithium of more than 99½ wt% with a high content of the main substance in the resulting product (up to 98½ wt%) and a minimum synthesis time when receiving a unit of the final product; in the method there is no cooling of the synthesis zone associated with the additional cost of resources.
