FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: method and server for displaying a user with points of interest (hereinafter – POI) in a cartographic application on a client device provide for reception of a request for displaying a set location on a map in the cartographic application and determination of a set of POI points based on the map and the set location. A set of web services associated with a user is determined, and information about previous user actions in the set of web services is extracted, partially indicating user’s preferences relatively to the set of POI points. The set of POI points is ranked based on data about previous user actions to form a ranked set of POI points. The map containing at least a subset of the ranked set of POI points is transmitted to the client device to be displayed to the user on a display of the client device.
EFFECT: obtainment of a method and a server for displaying points of interest on a map.
