AMMUNITION IN CASE Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC F42B5/03

Abstract RU 2678216 C1

FIELD: weapons and ammunition.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ammunition for artillery. Ammunition in the case, made with the possibility of placing in the breech of an artillery gun, contains two projectiles, located in the case one ahead of the other, powder propelling charges of the front and rear shells mounted inside the body behind the corresponding projectile, electrical ignition for igniting powder propelling charges of the front and rear shells in a given time sequence, installed on the inner surface of the body, respectively, between the bottom of the front projectile and the head of the rear projectile, and between its bottom and bottom of the body. Input of each electric fuse is connected by a wire with a corresponding electrical contact passing through the bottom of the case and electrically insulated from it, the circuit consisting of an electrical contact, connected by a wire with the input of an electric igniter, and a housing represent an electric ignition circuit of the corresponding electric igniter. Inside the body there is an annular protrusion for abutting the bottom of the rear projectile, which has sealing means, which is a section of the rear projectile skirt, made expandable in the radial direction when exposed to a load inside the body when the front projectile is fired. It is equipped with a “pin-cone” docking device for rigid connection of front and rear projectiles after their departure from the muzzle of an artillery gun, including a recess with a cylindrical nest in its lower part, corresponding in shape to the rear projectile head, made in the bottom of the front projectile, and a pointed pin mounted on the rear projectile head, corresponding to a cylindrical socket, as well as a shock absorber to reduce the impact pulse when docking shells and fixing elements of the pointed pin in a cylindrical socket. In this case, the propellant powder possesses a higher force than the projectile propellant powder, and the difference in the forces of the propellant propellants in the rear and front projectiles is determined from the possibility of their docking in the immediate vicinity of the muzzle.

EFFECT: technical result is to increase the firing range.
