FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a dispersion of rosin as a tackifying agent, to a continuous process for the preparation of a dispersion of rosin and to an adhesive composition containing a dispersion of rosin. Said rosin dispersion is a product of reaction between from 80 % to 98 % rosin resin with from 2 % to 20 % dispersant, on a dry basis, relative to the total dry weight of the dispersion of rosin. Said rosin resin is processed by esterifying the raw material of rosins with glycerol. Said dispersant is a copolymer of ethylene and acrylic acid.
EFFECT: adhesive composition contains an emulsion of acrylic polymer and the specified dispersion of rosin.
