FIELD: internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electronic driving. Method of controlling engine idling speed comprises receiving a request to turn on an electrical appliance load and controlling said electrical appliance load, adjusting an idling angle of ignition of the engine, adjusting the air intake amount of a throttle valve to adjust the actual rotational speed of the engine and stopping the adjustment of the air intake when the actual rotational speed of the engine is equal to a first target idling speed. Controlling the electrical appliance load, adjusting the idling angle of ignition, adjusting and stopping the control of air flow provides for the control of switching on of the relay if the electrical appliance load is a relay-controlled electrical appliance load. Idling angle of ignition of the engine is increased to the optimum angle, the amount of air supplied is reduced and the reduction of the amount of air supplied is stopped when the actual engine rotational speed reaches a first target idling speed.
EFFECT: reduced fuel consumption.
