PLANAR MAGNETIC RESONANCE SAFE CABLE FOR BIOPOTENTIAL MEASUREMENTS Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61B5/428 A61N1/08

Abstract RU 2678542 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment, specifically to magnetic resonance imaging in combination with electrocardiography. Magnetic resonance (MR) safe cable for biopotential measurements includes four or more electrically conductive wires arranged in a parallel planar configuration, and a stiff non-proton emitting substrate which holds the four or more controlled resistance conductive wires in the parallel planar configuration, wherein the stiff substrate comprises a flat shell of foam material surrounding and holding the conductive wires in parallel in a common plane. Method of using a magnetic resonance (MR) safe cable includes attaching at least four electrodes to a subject, placing the magnetic resonance safe cable along the subject with support by the subject or subject support, connecting the connector attached to one of the respective connectors of the first end of the conductive wires, with electrodes, connecting the connectors attached to the second end of the conductive wires with a patient monitor and holding four or more controlled resistance conductive wires in a planar and parallel configuration. Method of manufacturing a magnetic resonance (MP) safe cable includes stretching at least four electrically conductive wires in parallel in a plane and coating the stretched conductive wires with a rigid foam sheath that covers the conductive wires in a parallel planar configuration.

EFFECT: use of inventions reduces distortion in MR imaging.
