SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to providing patient's safety when working with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system comprises a cable assembly comprising an electrically conductive cable and a multi-core optical fibre assembled together with an electrically conductive cable to form a cable assembly; an electrical component connected to the cable assembly electrical conductor; a fibre shape reading device optically connected to the multicore optical fibre of the cable assembly and configured to measure the light reflection coefficient introduced into the multicore optical fibre, and calculating the shape of the cable assembly based on the measured reflection coefficient values; a processor configured to detect a portion of the electrically conductive cable subject to the resonance phenomenon at the magnetic resonance frequency based on the shape calculated for the multi-core optical fibre in the assembly with the conductive cable.

EFFECT: technical result is higher safety of device operation.
