FIELD: hydrobiology; hydrochemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for use in hydrobiological and hydrochemical studies. Device for concentrating suspended components in water samples contains a filtration device made in the form of a cylinder with an open bottom, in the upper part of which there is a tube for removing the filtered liquid, and a filter is located at a distance from the upper wall. Cylinder is placed inside the shipping container. Surfaces of the cylinder, not occupied by the filter, are covered with a layer of hydrophobic material. In the device, a method of concentrating suspended components in water samples is carried out by removing water in a shipping container.
EFFECT: technical result: minimizing the number of operations and ensuring automatic production of a given final volume of concentrate.
