FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of metallurgy, in particular to the manufacture of branched nanowires of refractory metals, which can be used in high-temperature devices, in electronic devices and sensors, in magnetic recorders, in nanomechanics, magnetoelectronics, vacuum electronics, and materials science. From the powder mixture containing tungsten or molybdenum, as well as Nickel and aluminum in an equimolar ratio, form the workpiece. Formation of filaments is carried out by self-propagating high-temperature synthesis due to the crystallization of the rod-shaped pseudobinary eutectic NiAl-W or NiAl-Mo, consisting of a matrix based on the NiAl intermetallic compound and branched strings of W or Mo. After which the intermetallic matrix is removed by chemical etching.
EFFECT: method allows to obtain branched beams of nanofibers with a thickness of a single thread from 25 nm to 200 nm and a total beam length of about 20 mcm, reduce energy costs and simplify the production process.
