SUBSTANCE: invention relates to computer engineering. Method of decoding video data comprises receiving, in an encoded video bitstream, one or more syntax elements that define residual components of the horizontal and vertical displacement of a residual two-dimensional vector; determining the components of the horizontal and vertical displacement of the two-dimensional vector based on the residual components of the horizontal and vertical displacement of the residual two-dimensional vector and based on the default predictive two-dimensional vector; determining a predictive video data block for the current video data block based on the components of the horizontal and vertical displacements of the two-dimensional vector, wherein the predictive video data block is one of a plurality of reconstructed video data blocks within the intended area within the same picture as the current video data block, wherein the intended area is limited to a limited set of a plurality of reconstructed video data blocks within the same picture that were not filtered in the contour; and restoring the current video data block by adding a predictive video data block to the residual block.
EFFECT: improving the efficiency and accuracy of prediction of current video blocks.
