SUBSTANCE: invention relates to computer engineering for processing audio data. Technical result is achieved by receiving a bit stream, inside which there is an adaptive audio mix containing a number of monophonic audio streams and metadata associated with each of the audio streams and indicating the playback location of the corresponding monophonic audio stream; and presenting a plurality of monophonic audio streams to a plurality of signals supplied to loudspeakers, corresponding to loudspeakers in a playback environment, wherein the loudspeakers of the loudspeaker array are placed in certain positions within the playback environment, and wherein the metadata elements associated with each corresponding object-based monophonic audio stream indicate an allocation volume to be applied to the monophonic audio stream on the basis of objects, thus the monophonic audio stream on the basis of objects is represented in a series of signals supplied to loudspeakers, with a spatial extent corresponding to the volume of distribution specified by the metadata.
