FIELD: audio processing.
SUBSTANCE: bit stream is received including channel-based audio and associated channel-based audio metadata. The service signal broadcast parameter is parsed from the channel-oriented audio metadata, wherein the service signal broadcast parameter specifies one of a plurality of different object audio metadata (OAMD) representations. Each of the OAMD representations maps one or more channel-based audio channels into one or more audio objects. The channel-specific metadata is converted to OAMD associated with one or more audio objects using the OAMD representation. Channel mixing information is generated based on OAMD channel ordering constraints. The audio channels of the channel-based audio are reordered based on the channel mixing information. The reordered channel-oriented audio and OAMD are coded into a stream of object-oriented audio bits.
EFFECT: increase of audio processing efficiency.
