ULTRAHIGH FREQUENCY STEREO RADAR FOR BLIND PEOPLE Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61F9/08 G01S13/88

Abstract RU 2679470 C1

FIELD: medical equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to rehabilitation medical equipment, in particular, to devices that allow completely blind people to orient themselves in their surroundings due to the direct conversion of radar signals into stereo sound signals, that ensures the creation of the space in the human mind in front thereof through the use of the capabilities of the auditory and mental abilities. Stereo radar contains receiving and transmitting parts located in the housing, a sawtooth voltage generator, which linearly simulates the frequency of the ultrahigh frequency generator. In this case, the output signal of the ultrahigh frequency generator is fed to a two-channel power divider, to the outputs of which two two-channel ultrahigh frequency power dividers are connected, the first pair of outputs of which are connected to the heterodyne inputs of two mixers, and the second pair of outputs is connected to the inputs of a two-channel ultrahigh frequency power adder to the output of which a transmitting antenna is connected, and two receiving antennas are connected to the signal inputs of two mixers, the output signals from which, after being amplified by audio amplifiers, are perceived by a blind person by means of a sound headset. Connection points of the receiving antennas are located as close as possible to each other to reduce the difference in the time delay of the reflected signals from each target, and the axes of the radiation patterns of the receiving antennas must be deflected from the axis of the transmitting antenna so that the overlap of the radiation patterns of the receiving antennas is 30–50 % of their area and their location in the zone of the width of the transmitting antenna pattern is provided for stereo localization.

EFFECT: technical result is to increase the noise immunity and reduce the size.
