SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method and device for fingerprint recognition, which belong to the technology associated with terminal devices. When a touch operation is detected, the impact area and the touch positions are determined on the display screen corresponding to fingerprint recognition, fingerprint image is obtained and fingerprint recognition is performed when the impact area is greater than or equal to the first predetermined threshold area and the touch position is in the predetermined recognition area. Using embodiments of the present invention, when the area of exposure is greater than or equal to the first predetermined threshold area and the touch position is in a predetermined recognition area, fingerprint recognition is performed when the parameters of the touch operation performed by a user satisfy the specified conditions.
EFFECT: higher accuracy of fingerprint recognition, since there is no need to repeatedly receive a fingerprint image corresponding to a touch operation, the power consumption of the terminal can be reduced.
