SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of composite materials. Method of obtaining an ice-based composite material includes layer-by-layer freezing of ice layers from water in molds. Layer-by-layer freezing of ice layers is carried out at a temperature of minus 10 to minus 17 °C, the thickness of the ice layer at the same time does not exceed 1.2 mm, the time interval between fillings does not exceed 30 minutes. In the process of freezing the layers of ice, the composite material obtained is reinforced by laying out at least two layers of reinforcing component, represented by RUSAR-S threads of 5 or 25 threads in a layer, on the surface of the frozen layer with further pouring of a new layer of ice.

EFFECT: using this method allows to ensure the strength of the ice-based composite material.
