SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrical engineering and electric power engineering and can be used in electrical networks for flexible regulation and stabilization of the voltage of the electrical network and is aimed at expanding the range of voltage regulation on the load. Method of controlling the voltage at the load in the regulator with an adjustable voltage converter includes setting the voltage control range at the output of the adjustable voltage converter, measuring voltage at the load with a voltage sensor, comparing the measured value of the voltage at the load with the required voltage at the load in the control unit of the adjustable voltage converter and the formation of a control signal at the output of the control unit, which sets the voltage at the output of the adjustable voltage converter, providing the required voltage on the load; the required value of the voltage on the load is compared in the control unit with the control range of the output voltage of the adjustable voltage converter and, if the required value of the voltage on the load does not exceed the control range of the output voltage of the regulated voltage converter, the branch consisting of a series connection of the load and the output terminals of the adjustable voltage converter, is shorted circuit, and if the required value of the voltage on the load exceeds the control range of the output voltage of the regulated voltage converter, the branch, consisting of a series connection of the load and the output terminals of the adjustable voltage converter, is connected to the terminals of the power source.

EFFECT: technical result is the expansion of the range of voltage regulation on the load.
