FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: device contains inductor with the working space, equipped with the profile plates set of transformer iron, mandrel configured to be mounted on the metal cutting machine, transformer, high-frequency currents generator with the capacitor bank, the switch and the protective casing. At that, the inductor is made detachable with possibility of made of different thickness the said profile plates of transformer iron, installation therein using the insulating elements, and contains the annular copper bus with the contacts output outside the protective casing. Inductor working space cross section dimensions are selected according to the relations Vi=(1.3–1.5)Vw, where Vi is the inductor working space dimensions, Vw is corresponding to it the processed workpiece size.

EFFECT: enabling increase in the part material preheating efficiency during the chromium-nickel and heat-resistant steels and alloys machining, and the device readjustment simplification during the parts of different sizes and configurations machining.
