FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building, particularly to machining of materials, and is intended for machining of parts of different configuration with preliminary induction heating of machined surface to required temperature, preferably at turning, boring, grinding and multi-spindle machines. Device for induction heating for machining of surfaces comprises a split inductor, equipped with a set of shaped plates of transformer iron of different thickness and having dimensions of working space according to relationship Bi = (1.3–1.5)Bp, where Bi – one of dimensions of working space of inductor, Bp – corresponding to it size of machined part, mechanism of connection and location of inductor in form of mandrel with possibility of installation on metal cutting machine, annular copper bus with output of contacts outside the protective casing, transformer, high-frequency current generator with unit of capacitors, switch and protective casing. On the protective casing a quick-release clamping cover is installed out of non-conductive material. Ratio of thicknesses of shaped plates from transformer iron at their even number makes 1:2.

EFFECT: simplified readjustment of the device when machining parts of different sizes and configurations and higher efficiency of material pre-heating during machining of chromium-nickel and heat-resistant steels and alloys.
