SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device and method for controlling indoor air quality. Device for controlling indoor air quality contains ventilation means for ensuring air exchange between the indoor environment and the outdoor environment; autonomous air cleaner, which is located separately from the ventilation means and which is designed to remove pollutants from the air in the indoor environment; and a control system that is in communication with the ventilation means and the air cleaner and which is adapted to control the operation of the ventilation means and the air cleaner depending on the air quality data relating to the indoor environment and the outdoor environment, moreover, the control system is configured to control the ventilation means and the air cleaner in a different way depending on whether the air quality data relating to the outdoor environment exceed the specified reference value or are below it.

EFFECT: object of the present invention is, on the one hand, to resolve the dilemma of the need for good indoor air quality and on the other hand, the need for ventilation.
