FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of protecting metals from atmospheric corrosion with the help of inhibitors and can be used for long-term preservation of metal structures and products from ferrous metals. Method for producing an oil-soluble corrosion inhibitor for treating ferrous metals has been proposed. Method involves the interaction of borated vegetable oil with an excess of diethanolamine to obtain a reagent containing a mixture of borated glycerides and diethanol amides of fatty acids. Specified reagent is mixed with dialkyldithiophosphate zinc in a weight ratio of from 1:1.2 to 6:1 by weight of the reagent and maintained at heating to a temperature of not more than 45 °C. Resulting reaction mass in the amount of 3–6 wt.% Is mixed with a solvent – mineral oil, for example, HC transformer oil.
EFFECT: invention provides an effective corrosion inhibitor for ferrous metals due to its high anti-corrosion properties with a low content in the base oil.
