SUBSTANCE: invention relates to protection of metals from corrosion, in particular to a method of producing an atmospheric corrosion inhibitor, an inhibitor can be used for long-term preservation of metal structures and articles from ferrous metals, to create working and conservation oils, where simultaneous provision of high anticorrosion, antioxidant and anti-wear properties is required, especially for gun oils. Method of producing a complex oil-soluble corrosion inhibitor of ferrous metals, which is a product of reaction of vegetable oil with diethanolamine and zinc dialkyl dithiophosphate, mixed with mineral oil as a solvent, involves the following steps: first, while heating and stirring in the presence of a catalyst and an antioxidant, reacting the vegetable oil with diethanolamine in molar ratio of 1:1.9–1:2.2 respectively, to obtain a reagent, which is a mixture of glycerides and diethanolamides of fatty acids, followed by mixing the obtained reagent while heating with zinc dialkyl dithiophosphate, taken at a weight ratio of 2:1 to 6:1 to the weight of the reagent. Catalyst used is a suspension of sodium hydroxide (NaOH) in diethanolamine at a weight ratio of 0.1–0.3 % (based on NaOH) of the weight of the finished product, and as an antioxidant, 4-methyl-2,6-di-tert-butyl-phenol is taken at a weight ratio of 0.5–1.0 % of the weight of the end product.

EFFECT: invention enables to obtain an effective corrosion inhibitor of ferrous metals owing to high anticorrosive properties while providing phase stability of inhibitor solutions in base oil.
