Said composition is suitable for oral administration and designed to increase the content or increase the expression of the gene NAD(P)H: quinone oxidoreductase 1 (NQO-1), which contains a synergistic combination: glucoraphanin as a sulforaphane precursor; myrosinase as an enzyme capable of converting the sulforaphane precursor to sulforaphane; ascorbic acid as an enzyme potentiator and an extract or powder of maitake mushroom or an extract or powder of shiitake mushroom, taken in a certain ratio. Method for increasing the content or increasing the expression of the NAD(P)H gene: quinone oxidoreductase 1 (NQO-1) in the treatment, prevention, reduction in the frequency, reduction of symptoms and reduction in repeated relapses of breast cancer.
