FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture, in particular to devices for automatically tracking voluntary behaviour of animals in a herd. Data network has multiple nodes and a central data processing system. Separate nodes are transmitters and/or receivers in the data network and have a unique identification signature. One node is attached to the tracked animal. Additional node is attached to the bodies to which the animal approaches or touches. Each of the two nodes has two connecting electrodes and is configured for data communication with the other node via electrical communication in a closed AC electrical circuit. Electrical circuit operates through two connecting electrodes in each case and through the body of the animal as an electrical conductor and operates through the ground and through a capacitor present between the connecting electrode of the node and the ground. Second connecting electrode of the node forms contact with the body of the animal in the circuit. One node connection is located on the side of the animal in the circuit. Second node connection indirectly establishes a connection with the ground.

EFFECT: higher accuracy of monitoring the behaviour of animals in a herd.
