SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of animal husbandry, namely to systems for automatically tracking the behavior of individual animals in a herd to identify the most favorable time for their fertilization, mainly artificial. The method for determining the state of estrus of an agricultural animal is characterized by the fact that the animal carries a motor activity sensor containing a transceiver for communication with the information processing center. The method includes stages at which the motor activity of each individual of an agricultural animal in the herd is recorded over time, animals with increased motor activity are isolated compared to the recorded activity for previous periods, the radar method determines the mutual proximity of the selected animals for a certain period by analyzing the attenuation or delay of signals propagating between transceivers installed on animals. Based on the results of the assessment of the mutual proximity and motor activity of animals, a decision is made on the state of estrus of these animals.

EFFECT: invention provides high reliability of determining the state of estrus of an animal under various conditions of its maintenance, both indoors and in conditions of free grazing.
