FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a process for production of acetic acid, comprising a reaction of methanol and carbon monoxide in the presence of a liquid reaction medium containing iodide, under carbonylation conditions sufficient to form acetic acid, where the liquid reaction medium contains a carbonylation catalyst selected from the group consisting of rhodium catalysts, iridium catalysts and palladium catalysts; from 1 wt.% to 14 wt.% of water and one or more additives, where the ratio of additive to iodide is from 1:1 to 5:1, derivatives of one or more additives generated in-situ, or combinations thereof; where one or more additives contains a mixture of compounds of tri-n-octylphosphine oxide (TOPO), tri-n-hexylphosphine oxide (TNPO), dihexylmonooctylphosphine oxide and dioctylmonohexylphosphine oxide; and the technological process of extraction of acetic acid.
EFFECT: method allows to reduce corrosion in the process.
