FIELD: signaling.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to signaling in enhanced discontinuous reception (DRX) mode for a user equipment (UE) in connection mode. For this purpose, the user equipment uses discontinuous reception (DRX) in the connection network mode. Enhanced DRX mode contains DRX periods and offsets based on the value of a particular DRX period. User equipment receives (S31) an alarm from a communication network, wherein the alarm contains an indication of an increased DRX period and an offset value, calculates (S32) the increased DRX period based on the indication of the increased DRX period and calculates the offset based on the offset value using the value of the specific DRX period and performs (S33) DRX using the calculated values of the extended DRX period and offset, if the user equipment is in connected mode.

EFFECT: technical result is to achieve minimized redundancy without compromising flexibility with respect to enhanced DRX mode.
