FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to analytical chemistry, is intended to determine the organic compound phytin in the seeds of plants. Method for determining salts of phytic acid in plant seeds involves extracting phytin from raw materials with hydrochloric acid, conducting additional purification with hydrochloric acid extract by adding to it a mixture of isoamyl alcohol and chloroform (1:24 vol. Fractions) in a volume ratio of extract:mixture 4:1, mixing, centrifuging the resulting mixture with at least 20000g, adding to the resulting supernatant a solution of 0.03 % ammonium rhodanide NH4SCN in 6 % HCl and 0.86 % FeCl3 solution and 0.2 % HCl in distilled water in a volume ratio of 1:1.5:1, colorimetration at a wavelength of 337 nm, a mixture of 0.03 % ammonium rhodanide NH4SCN in 6 % HCl and 0.86 % FeCl3 solution and 0.2 % HCl in distilled water is taken as a control in the same proportions, but the volume of the supernatant is replaced by an equal volume of water, the determination of the absolute mass f (mg) of phytin in the sample according to the calibration curve and the concentration F (%) according to the formula F=100f/Mn, where Mn is the mass of the sample supernatant sample (mg).
EFFECT: method is proposed for determining salts of phytic acid in plant seeds.
